Nicola Moriarty

Nicola Moriarty is a Sydney-based novelist, copywriter, and mum to two small (but remarkably strong-willed) daughters. In between various career changes, becoming a mum, and completing her BA, she began to write. Now, she can’t seem to stop. Her works include the novels Free-Falling and Paper Chains, and the novella Captivation, as well as contributions to two U.K. anthologies. She was awarded the Fred Rush Convocation prize from Macquarie University, along with "Best Australian Debut" from Chicklit Club.

Moriarty's latest novel is The Fifth Letter.

Recently I asked the author about what she was reading. Her reply:
Right now at this very moment (okay, not this very moment), I’m reading The Dangers of Truffle Hunting by Sunni Overend. It’s intoxicatingly intense, full of vivid descriptions and rich with history. I can’t wait to see how it ends!

Just recently I devoured The Golden Child by Wendy James, Love at First Flight by Tess Woods and The Pretty Delicious Café by Danielle Hawkins. The Golden Child was a frighteningly real and simply unputdownable tale of high-school bullying. A must read for parents of teens. Love at First Flight was compulsive reading with smoulderingly sexy scenes mixed with heart-break and grief. And The Pretty Delicious Café was delightfully delectable with a zesty finish.

Next up on my TBR list is the first draft of my sister Jaclyn Moriarty’s newest and as yet unpublished and unnamed novel (known only as ‘the pirate book’), which I’m desperate to read because I know it will be utterly brilliant!
