The debut of her Jo Larsen series, Walk Into Silence, was a #1 Kindle bestseller in the US and the UK, and #3 in Australia.
McBride's new book, Walk A Crooked Line, is the second Jo Larsen novel.
Recently I asked the author about what she was reading. McBride's reply:
What I’m reading right now is The Martian by Andy Weir. I’m a little behind the curve on this one, I know, but I caught the movie on TV and loved it. Thanks to Matt Damon bringing Mark Watney to life so brilliantly, I can easily envision him. Sometimes the writing is clunky, but Watney’s voice is so engaging that I don’t mind. I’m rooting for him, just as I’m supposed to, hoping he survives being left behind on Mars (and his potato “field” blowing up). My only negative: I find myself wanting to skim through some of the technical stuff (which I used to do when I binged on Tom Clancy). But, hey, I’m not the typical science fiction reader. I’m just a chick who likes a good story. I don’t exactly need to know how to repair an oxygenator with a rubber band.Visit Susan McBride's website.
Next up in my TBR pile: The Death of Mrs. Westaway by Ruth Ware. Again, I’m late to jump onto the Ruth Ware bandwagon. But I didn’t marry until 43 and had a baby at 47. I’m kind of late to everything.
My Book, The Movie: Walk Into Silence.
